Holiday hair

Few days ago our family came back from almost two week holiday. It was just as I expected, unfortunately I was not able to post anything on the road, I needed to wait until now. In this post I want to post all the hairs I photographed during those two weeks.

First of all when we left I had this knotted braid. I loved how well it lasted!

Then I wanted to try Cute Girls Hairstyles French Backs and this was result.

I took quite a few ribbons with me since I wanted to rehearse ribbon braids but in the end I only managed to do these two styles, First one is four strand dutch braid on myself and the second just a dutch braid ending in a ribbon bow.

This was my Christmas Eve style, I struggled with this one since I wanted to have loop braid both side of my head and somehow I couldn't make it work. In the end I got some sort of up do out of it!

While traveling I got my self two new toys, a hair crimper, which makes a very small wave to the hair to make it look more full and also a mannequin head. Of course I tried out both of the immediately!

This is how my hair looked crimped.

And this is how my mannequin head looks like, I made loop dutch braid to it just to try out the hair. It felt more like real hair than I thought!

Space calling

Hi, it's Monday, I have a non heat curls day. Today I chose to do them with foil. I was thinking that i don't want to have so curly curls so I did less sections than earlier. Guess what happened?

I got myself an afro!

I wanted to have my hair open (even though it's raining) with a head band so I still went for it. It took some hair spray and gel to make it work!

Visit in heaven

I went to hairdresser today. It's one of the most relaxing things in the world when someone is doing your hair! I got my roots made more dark and ends more blond, in between some highlights are added. As a cherry on the cake my hairdresser made me these soft curls and waterfall braid going round the head.

 I just simply love this!

Rock n roll me

I guess this is as rock n roll I get!

I just love this style, I think it would be great if I was going out. I actually did have a small party today, we had a small Christmas party with the other mums. I wouldn't call that as going out partying, though!

Through a straw

Hey, it's Monday! And yes, it's again rainy and windy. It has been the same weather every time I have done my non heat curls.

This time I choose straws as my helpers. Yesterday evening when I went to bed I looked like this. You should have seen the face of my one year old when she woke up in the morning, I think she was a little bit afraid of me, at least she wouldn't hug me until I took these off!

I divided the hair the same way as I do when I use toilet paper. I divided the hair to approx. 12 sections and rolled the around the straw. What surprised me was the good grip the straws had, when you get the knot done, they really hold very well, there was no pins needed. But unfortunately the straws made quite a noise when they rubbed against the pillow in the night!

When I opened the knots in the morning this was the hair waiting for me. Before this shot I did not style my hair at all, just went through it with my fingers. This is pretty tight curl.

So what I ended up doing with the hair was this. I made flip accents both side of the parting and kind of a mowhak in the back with three ponytails. This held up surprisingly well, I went outside with my hood on and also took a nap and it still looked the same!

My hair recently

As you've notice, I haven't posted so much about my hair and every day styles, even though that was the original meaning of this blog. I try to get back to my original rhythm so here are my hairstyles over the few days.

Monday I tried out waterfall twists. For the first time ever they worked out the way I really wanted them to. I really liked this style!

Yesterday, Tuesday, I had my hair just on pony tail, Today I realized that I can actually have a high bun if I just pin the hairs in the neck up!

Xmas party time!

Today was an awesome hair day for me! I got the do the hair of these lovely ladies in the picture.

They are the colleagues of my husband and when we met earlier in the Autumn, I mentioned that I could do their hair if they had some special occasion. And now I got the change since it was their offices Christmas party! I'm so happy that they trusted me with their hair, doing the up do's felt like dream come true!

Then to the individual pictures. She wanted to have her hair in soft curls and half up, preferably over one shoulder. She had beautiful, shiny and sleek hair and we decided to add some volume to it with three clip on hairpieces. The highlights she has stand out beautifully in the braids in the back!

This girl was first asking for a curls which would be gathered to a bun on top of her head. To me she seemed more like a rock n roll kind of girl rather than the romantic type so after all we went for this more sleek bun style which compliments the beautiful color of her hair. Also the bow in the neck of her dress shows nicely in this one.

And last, but not least, the Evita look-a-like up do. She has the most beautiful hair in the world, blond, thick, shiny and all the way to the waist! I would love to braid this hair sometime! She wanted to have her hair all up, in a neat but not too sleek bun. I first went for basic pull through braid up do, but since she had so much hair it became this pull through up do with vintage vibe on it. It suited her very well!

Twist it, baby!

It's Monday again and so my non heat curl project continues! Today I tried rope twist curls. Rope twist curls were not on my original agenda but one of the Instagram accounts I follow @ bunorbraid , suggested it to me.  I though it was definitely an idea worth trying for.

This time I did not want to have very curly hair so I put only 5 rope twists to my hair. I looked like this when I was going to bed.

The curls what I got out looked like this.

These curls did not look exactly like what I pictured. The curls came out more curly than I wanted. So in the end I decided not to wear curls for today  but brush them out. Of course the left out curls gave me volume in my hair and I got quite nice up do out of it.

On one side I did two rope twists which I pinned together to look like almost like a fishtail braid. On the other side there was a messy bun.

Non heat pin curls

On Mondays I do my non heat curl projects. Expect last Monday, because I totally forgot that Sunday that I needed to prepare the curls, Today I'm also cheating since I had the curls day early, I'm here showing my Sunday party hair.

I did it so because yesterday I needed to have a really nice, really quick up do for my little girls birthday party. I decided, that having curls as a bottom would be the easiest hair style. I added some braids and this was my hair for the party. Making it took maybe five minutes!

I started doing my hair Saturday night. I wore these kind of pinned up bundles for the night.

These kind of curls were the result I got out. Talk about vintage vibe. And for these photos I have not styled my hair at all, only gone through it with my fingers after taking the pins away.

Tuesday is the new Monday

Should have done my no heat curls yesterday but since I forgot, today is the new Monday.

I chose to do toilet paper curls this time. This is how I looked like when I went to sleep! I made quite a lot of hair parts and I twisted the hair into ropes before tying them into the toilet paper. I found this a little bumpy to sleep with but I managed and did not even get a head ache, which I get easily.

The curls, which came out, looked like this.

I wanted to wear my hair some what open so I only added a scarf. A real rock star look!

I also tried to do something with my friends hair but I was totally out of ideas. I did three or four things before I made this messy celtic knot.

No heat for me on Mondays!

Today was third Monday of my non heat curls challenge. This time I chose to do head band curls. So, Sunday evening I did this, I tucked my hair around a head band and then went to sleep looking like this.

With the head band you get these kind of curls. They really have vintage vibe in them! I managed to do the cutls for me but I think these kind of curls would work best with a longer hair than mine.

Since today was again windy and rainy day I wanted to have my hair up. I was running out of time and kids patience, so I just did a quick Dutch braid. It looks so much fuller when my hair is curled first.
