Last treat from last week

I have one set of hair pictures left from last week.

Before that, here is my hair today. This is my first real braid for the short hair.

Last week I had one chance to braid my sister in laws hair, her hair is thick, wavy and long. This was the result. The upper braid is waterfall braid which turns into a snake braid lace braid.

First styles as long bob brunette

This was one of the first photos, taken with a phone and bad lighting. But I like the soft waves.

Day after we visited a zoo so it just tied my hair to a quick pony tail.

The same day, I curled the hair again for the evening, we had a birthday party.

When we returned home and yesterday I just wanted to wear my hair straight and open.

Last styles as long blond

 As I did not post anything last week I have some pictures of last weeks hair style. These are the hair styles before I went to the hairdresser. 

 This was the day we left, I wore my hair straight and I made it fuller with some hair powder.

Next day I wanted to try a new braid pony, this was it.

Then it was turn for some more braids, this is a head band from a dutch braid with curls.

Finally I wanted to try something that I really could not do to short hair, The dutch braid goes around the bun and then around my head.

Later on I turned it to just a dutch braid in my bangs and otherwise open hair.

Hi, I.m back home. With totally new hair!

I must say that it was time for something new and I really like the length. But the color is not what I asked! I told my hairdresser that I don't want it to be red and that I want dark brown 3/4 upper half of my hair and blond ends, ombre coloring that is. And I can tell you that this is not ombre!

If I had more time I would have asked her to do it again but we needed to return home some for the next six weeks this will be my color. I already booked a new time to a hairdresser in Finland to finally get my ombre look. 

Fishtail

I've never tried this braid on me, I'm kind of exited that it worked out so well. My hair looks even a little bit thicker than it is!

Am I going to miss it?

That is, my blond hair. I might. I'm going to hairdresser next week and I have decided to ask for a big make over, cut the hair shorter and give it a different color.

I made myself few hair principles earlier, my hair is going to be long and blond. Now I'm missing the adventure to have a totally different hairstyle! And for those of you who don't know, I had all the hair colors there is and also much shorter hair.

I am not an engineer!

Lately I've been feeling I should be. I have here two computer, Windows phone and an ipad and it seem totally impossible to be able to update my blog. Either the pictures are in a device which for some reason cannot connect to a computer or then the computer and Blogger have issues with each other and the update does not go through. Very frustrating!

So here is first yesterdays update, a bun with a braid. This was so easy to make that if I've known that earlier, I would have tried it much sooner!

Today I made myself easy, messy  bun in the neck.

Fancy ponytail

I've been lately watching a lot of hair pictures and todays hair is a result of that. This is an advanced ponytail with actually two ponytails. I also have one small piece of extension in it. I liked it quite a lot!

This is what it looked like straight from the back. (Sorry for the picture quality, did it my self with my phone six thirty in the morning when there was no daylight...)

Crayfish time

From August starts crayfish season. Then it's traditional to have parties where the point is to eat crayfish, sing drinking songs and, well, drink shots of vodka. We had our party this weekend. I admit, I stayed away from the vodka but otherwise it was like old times, good friends, great food, awesome cottage by a lake, we had so much fun!

But back to the main business hair. For me this was a grat trip since all the girls allowed me to do their hair! First my hair, I wore snake braid on Saturday.

 

And open wavy hair on Sunday. I made the curls with GHD straightening iron.

More braids

My braid rehearsals continue. Today I had dutch braid from ear to ear and a bun. Looked nice, could wear this at work too.

 

 

I'm also convinced that I need new hair brushes, at least three different kind. The problem is that I don't seem to find good ones anywhere! Especially tricky are the brushes I love the most, which are Simply Natural extension hair brushes. There seems to be one web shop which sells them but the size is wrong.  Well, I already contacted the hair salong I used when I had extensions and asked if they had the brushes, they might get them next week. So I just have to wait.

 

Don't go chasing waterfalls...

Or in this case, actually, please do! Today I made my first waterfall braids. I first tried it to my friend but in the hurry of watching over the kids at the same time it did not really work out. When I came home I tried it to myself too. It worked out much better.

 

 

Today has actually been braiding day since I also braided my neighbours little girls hair, she needed to have her hair in a braid for tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't have a picture of that. But I do have a picture of my little girl and her adorable baby braid I made!

 

 

 

 

I blow tried

I made myself a blow dry in the morning. Or something similar with a curler since I still don't own a hair dryer. My choice to do it today was not the best one since it was moist and foggy outside. After being outside for ten minutes the blow dry was gone.

 

 

I take this that I must rehearse more and have better equipment. Also better weather helps!

 

Finally a success!!!

I've taken at least three hours to get these photos here and finally, finally I have succeeded!! There is something wrong either with my phone or computer but these two devices just don't connect. So I was totally unable to get todays and yesterdays pictures here. Luckily finally it worked out.

 

Yesterday I wore my hair open. I realized that I can use hair powder all through my hair, also to the ends so I got much more structure to my hair, it was just not hanging loose. I also pinned it up half way.

 

 

Today I styled yesterdays hair to a high pony tail. The small twist around the hair band is extension, I  first made a ponytail from my lower  hair, then pinned the extension near to the band and then comb the upper hair also to pony tail. This way it looks I have much more hair.

 

 

I have a new skill

I've today learned how to make waves, not curls,  with curling iron, wo-hoo! I got the tip from Mariela Sarkima's Hair bible - book, I finally bought my own copy.

 

The book has been published in the spring 2014 and since the writer is Finnish make up artist and hairdresser as well as beauty producer I have high hopes that I find loads of inspiring tips from the book. I have not had the time to read the book through but it seems promising.

 

So for todays hair I tried the waves and also tried to create a small bow tie bun in the side of my head -that did not turn out so well.  I try again another time.

 

 

I also organized my hair accesories table, now everything is easily reachable! The pin jars are by the way baby food cans, I painted the lids with left over nailpolishes, clever me!

 

 

Ponytail action!

I told you yesterday that I'm inspired by all the new styles I've seen in instagram. Well, this multiband pony is inspired by style by  #ice_braids

 

 

 

I also had a chance to make my friends hair, it's always a joy, I love her hair! (Wish mine was similar.) As base I made these princess curls, then I made half pony with rope braid.

 

 

 

 

New inspiration!

I'm in love, instagram is great, I'm full of ideas! Unfortunately I don't have the hair for all of the designs I want to try but I'm luring my friends as quineapigs!

 

It's official...

the autum is here. I know it for sure because both of the kids are sick. Hello, my old, reliable friend childrens doctor. Well, luckily it's just a flu, unfortunately it prevents them from sleeping propely. I'm feeling quite dizzy after a one night wakin gup every hour. Thats why I gave up and just went with open hair today even though joining Instagram has pumped  me up with ideas!

 

All backwards

I tried crown braid again. This time I started braiding dutch braid from my neck and continued with normal braid. I made two braids to the both sides of my head and pinned them together on forehead. Works!
