The carnival day

Today is really a party day in Finland! Especially if you are a student you should party hard. It's  quite a while since my student days so I'm partying like staying home mums do, having fun with neighbours and kids! We had nice food and drinks, balloons and bubbles, it was a nice day!

 

 

 

I also had a change to practise my braiding so I made a crossing dutch braid to one of my friends!

 

 

Getting ready for Vappu celebration!

Tomorrow is the evening before 1st of May, which means that tomorrow is a carnival day for everyone! For our family it means balloons and paper hats, hotdogs and candies!

 

I started to get ready today by shopping the essential things, easy braiding went well with that

 

A new kind of twist

I was trying to come up with something new to the everyday high bun, I found this twist quite nice!

I'm so fond of my new braiding skills and this up do that I'm wearing it again.

 

Can't help myself, this just goes with everything!

 

Party day!

Well, not for me but for my friends. I got the change to do my three friends hair today, they all had different parties today.

She had important birthday party

She had grandmothers birthday

And she was going to house warming party

 And what did I do with my hair? I wore it open most of the day. When it was time to start cooking I suddenly did not find hair bands so I used a pen, like I sometimes do. Works out just as well!

Practise makes perfect

I'm again practising braiding. This time I made a dutch braid around the head and made a braid bun underneath other ear. Unfortunately camera run out of battery so I have only this picture.

Hang loose

Today I had my friend and her little boy coming over so I didn't use so much time and effort to my hair - I used it all to cooking.

 

So I just let the hair hang loose without doing anything special to it.

Something funny

I did not want to look so serious today. Last night I was up every hour because babies did not want to sleep and I needed something to cheer me up!  My first go-to cure was coffee and chocolate but also nice hair and clothes help. And good friends!

 

 

Luckily I have the other mums in the neighbourhood, we organized a visit to nearby cafe. I also remembered my new floral sweater which goes together with pink earrings and here I am, with a side bun feeling much more alive and happy! Sun is still shining, I can plan summer holiday, nobody is sick -I have nothing to complain about!

I forgot!

It's been exceptionally good weather here considering the time of the year and I just completely forgot to update the blog! The sun must have gotten to my head or something...

 

So this is me yesterday, I rehearsed my dutch braids again, I have two on the both sides of my head.

 

 

Today I wore my hair in a loose bun in the neck. I used only bobby pins to hold the bun.

 

 

Easter egg hunt

 My Dutch husband organized an egg hunt for the kids to celebrate Easter. Even two year old found the egg in the picture quite fast!

I on the other hand tried my braiding skills again and put on two dutch braids in the evening, this is the result. With hair like this, dressed in a grey sweat shirt and visiting my parents in my childhood home I kind of get the feeling of early 90's...

Holiday! Shopping!

And holiday shopping! We are going to Tuscany, Italy in the summer and today I started to look for the summer clothes today.O boy, did I find them or what! Otherwise we were enjoying the family time with our own little family and family of my sisters. 

In the end I had some time to even do my nails, orange with pink details, I'm going for the summer with these colors, too.

Ballet bun on the road

Today we were travelling to my parents half way up Finland, 4,5 hours of driving + lunch break. The weather in southern part of Finland was, as the picture shows, nice and sunny, a little rain came down when we arrived.

I went for a simple ballet bun for my hair, it travels well and I could have even slept in the car.Not that I actually did since I had so many nice magazines to read and, of course, children to entertain.

Not what it ought to be

I should have a pony tail in the picture. But what happened is that evening came, children needed to have their baths and showers and I also had mine -and didn't remember to take a picture before that.

So this picture is me au naturel, hair was also loose rest of the evening!

Pony tail with a twist

I wore my hair in a pony tail today but I actually wanted to wear it this way, twist a pony tail a little. This is cool too!

Yesterday once more

When I started the braiding yesterday, I was kind of like going for this style. After the braiding I changed my mind.

This idea of an up do did not leave me alone and I wanted to try again. Today I had enough with the dutch braid and changed the braiding type to rope braid. This was totally new way fro me to wear my front hair, I somehow like how the rope braids lifts the hair up.

It's been a while since I practiced to make dutch braids and today I tried again. I made a braid from one ear to another while the rest of the hair was loose. The braid could have turned out little but better but this is a good start!

Down side in wearing hair like this is I really can see that my hair has started to fall off again -that happens few months after giving birth. Typically hair falls of from the temples, as you can see in my case too. I'm becoming bald!

(Thanks to being ill I have a cold sore in the corner of my mouth -looks bad and feels awful, I really can not take any close ups this week!)

Day at the exhibition

I felt quite normal today and we went to a Child exhibition, we had free tickets, that was.  We had fun day as a family, both of my sister were there as well, it was nice to see them since it's been a while since last meeting

I went to my go- to hair style again, it holds so well the whole day. The picture is taken after we returned home, style is still the same as when I left home!

Another day missed

Before the children I was never sick. Maybe I had few flu's in a year, but that was it. When my son was born this continued and then I gave birth to my daughter. After that me or one of the children have been sick almost all the time! Come to think about it, I was actually having a flu when I was in delivery, maybe that was  already a sign of the coming times.

Yesterday I was having the most awful stomach bug and I spent my day speaking Norway to the big white phone in the bath room (at least all the Finns understand what I mean) So there are no pictures from yesterday.

Today I've been coming back alive. In the picture I'm half way feeling normal...

Late in the evening

I've been trying to develop a routine to update my blog. I try to get up when my husband is still home before he goes to work, and do my hair and take a picture first thing in the morning. If that does not happen, next change to do the hair and to take the picture is while one or both of the children are a sleep. And if that fails, then I can do like today and take the photo in the evening just before going to bed.

Like today, I've already had my hair done in few different ways, first open and sleek in the morning as I was running errands, then in the ponytail while cooking and now in a looped ponytail after the evening routine with the children. I kind of like how my front hair drops when I haven't styled it too much, that's why this is today's look!

Oops, i did it again...

I started to do an up do to my hair and ended up with totally something else. That sometimes happens to me, like I earlier explained.

But first thing's first, do you ever feel like that you wake up looking like this? Well, I do.

But there is nothing to worry from now on, you can turn it to for example this.

Feeling like Monday

Today is Tuesday. I need to tell myself that because I somehow feel like Monday, funny feeling that. Well, it is any way only the start of the new week anyway!

I was not doing so much today and I wore my hair open most of the day. In the start of the evening I tied the hair to these two ponytails.

Just do it

I mentioned before that Monday is my training day. So here I am, just going to my gym class, with braided front hair and bun. The head line for today's post is from Nike, just do it! I just did.

Sunday brunch

Today I was invited to my friends place for a brunch, I went there with my  son. To celebrate the brunch I wore toilet paper curls, my hair gets quite curly even with four rolls. Curls are nice for a change!

Almost like old times

Today I had a Saturday which reminded me of the time before children. In the morning we made smoothie, then I had time to go shopping and when I returned, I could go to gym, of course after lunch. We ended the day with chicken-avocado salad and glas of wine followed by some cake and cookie baking and sauna. 

Now, when the cildren are a sleep I'm so ready to go to sleep too!

For the laid-back day I had laid back hair.

Alive again!

Today I feel I'm finally coming back to life again! I got some sleep last night, kids are not that sick anymore, sun is shining -life is good again!

 

 

I wanted to do something new to my hair and ended up in rope braid bun. I guess this would look even nicer little bit more nearer to the ear, it is spposed to be clearly in one side.

The morning after hospital visit, that is. I'm fine, but I needed to take my little girl to ER, again. She has again really bad flu and she has trouble of breathing. So to the hospital we went yesterday evening and stayed there more than four hours. 

I really did not get much sleep and there fore didn't pay much attention to my hair, just let it hang loose.

Want to guess what it is? You guessed right, it's sleeping. I've been trying to take daytime naps whenever I can, usually I need to choose between lunch and nap, lunch has so far won almost every time. 

Today I would have so wanted to take a nap but it was unfortunately not possible.So I needed to fake having a nap for this picture...
