Little ones

We went to a birthday party Saturday and this four year old young lady let me braid her hair. I went for a style I saw that day in Instagram, heart with a ponytail inside and two dutch braids from both sides to one simple braid. I was told she loved being photographed!

And then, for the first time, I managed to do some sort of hair style for my own little daughter. She is now 13 months old so I hope soon I get to do all sorts of braids for her! I did a small dutch braid on the front and secured it with a pin. Then she has two pig tails. So cute. Lasted maybe ten minutes.

Slide up and down

These two are my hairstyles from today. When I opened Instagram frist time in the morning I saw a hairstyle from @girlzhaircreations and fell in love with it. This one is inspired by it. In my version the the hair parts, which make the curve, are done with two different hair parts as my hair is too short for the original creation. Rest of my hair is into ponytail, in original pic it was in curls. I really liked this one!

I didn't have time to do the up do above so in the morning I had something else to spice up my pony tail, a four strand slide up braid. It was my first try so it's not anything near perfect, nice looking anyway.

Baking braids

I'm sorry the blog has been quiet for few days! My mind has totally been away from hair stuff and instead I've been baking and entertaining visitors. First I had my mum come over for few days, then the parents in law's arrived and today we have celebrated my darling little girls one year old party. I just can't believe it's already a year when she was born!

When I was baking I needed to have my hair up so these two where my "baking braids".

Something for me

I feel like it's been a while since I've tried a everyday style so today I wanted to spice up my pony tail. I guess I was thinking too much of everyday styles (and I have a cold + kids are sick) so I forgot totally that Mondays I'm supposed to do non heat curls! So no curls for me today!

Well, I make it up tomorrow and have a non heat curls Tuesday.

Just braidz

I haven't posted anything in few days. I've been out of inspiration, had migraine and so. But today I'm back in track. 

While having morning coffee I did this braided ponytail to my friend. It did not come out quite the way  I would have liked but it was a good practice.

For many days I'v been rehearsing multiple strand braids for myself without any success. Today I got fed up with that and faked a six strand braid. I did two normal lace braids next to each other and pinned it together. Worked out very well!

Someone else's turn

Today me and the other mums celebrated two three year olds with coffee and cake and while enjoying the refreshments, I had chance to do some hair. For my good friend I wanted to try the hair bow up do, I know she likes bows so this was definitely suitable for her.

Another style I've wanted to try already some time is carousel braid. It was really fun to do!

My own hair is open and I still haven't decided will I do something with it. If I will, you'll see the result tomorrow!

Rainy day

Today I'm wearing my hair open, there is nothing new to see in there. Luckily my friend let me do her hair, it's a fish tail braid bubble pony tail with some dutch braid accents.

TGIF

My husband comes home today, great, he's been away just one night but still I miss him. And weekend start, oh yes!

Today I did'n bother with hair, only did this kind of waterfall braid to spice up my pony tail.

So much to do, so little time!

I'm so obsessed with hair lately. I just want to do new things all the time and I have so much ideas. Unfortunately time is my limit now, most of the things I want to do, I can't do with the kids around. Need to solve this problem still. Can I put to the kids to day care just because I want to braid?

Anyway, this is what I've done today. Pull through braid to a mum friend.

Dutch lace braid and a rope pony tail to another friend. I was entering Ice_braids #fallrecreation2 challenge with this one in Instagram.

I went to a Me and I -party in the evening and there where these little girls who wanted me to do them "an up do". They didn't have so much age or patience so I quickly did something what I remembered #jennishairstyles had earlier made. Pictures are very bad but the other one is a heart and the other a star. I also did one snake braid but I dont't have a picture of that.

And what about my hair? It was open I was supposed to curl it, I wanted to try my new curling wand but then I locked my self and the kids outside in the afternoon. By the time my husband got home I did not have any time to do any curling. Maybe tomorrow, then.

My new project!

I've been thinking about non heat curls for a while. I counted and I know at least 9 ways to do them. So my new project is that every Monday I'm going to show you one style with one type of non heat curls. I'm interested about what kind of curls I get with each method and what kind of hair I can make of that. Curls usually look very nice with little girls but I would like to see what kind of grown up styles I can make of it.

These are the items I'm going to use to do the curls. There are toilet paper, socks, straws, kitchen foil, bobby pins, bun pins, braids and panties.

I started the project with braids. Yesterday evening i made seven small cornrow braids to my hair. This was the part when my arms got very tired!

I got these kind of curls out.

I kind of liked the curls already open but since the type of curl is little bit like a curl which is made with a texturing iron I decided to do a bubble pony tail. Bubble pony tails always look good in 

curly hair since the curls give the pony tail more texture and volume. This was the end result what I'm wearing today!

New hobby

I've just found You Tube excersice videos, I think they are great if you need to do your work out at home! In the morning I had my hair open but since I wanted to do a work out I tied it up. I had a really good work out and hair looks still nice!

I'm a winner!

I usually don't enter competitions but this week I'm been obsessed to win tickets to I love me -fair here in Helsinki. The fair is all about beauty, health, hair and nails and there are so many exhibitors I would like to meet and visit. And so it happened that today I was informed that I won two tickets to the fair AND we also get to attend a beauty workshop about how to do a smoky eyes! I'm thrilled!

But back to todays hair. I wanted to have some simple, casual but still grown up style other than just a ponytail, so I did a braid headband with pony tail. The braid is lace braid, I would have wanted to try with fishtail but time run out and kids were too wild. I still like this a lot!

Day off from work

Today I did not do anything special for my hair, I took a day off and had a ponytail. In ig I updated some old photos. Ponytail worked wonderful for mornings play date and afternoons You Tube work out. Sometimes you just got to have day off, right?

Friday gear!

Braids, my Friday gear or so it seems. If I'm home on Friday I always take the kids to near by family park, there is a music hour on  Fridays. Braid up do's are always easy to make and neat so that's why I'm the braided girl there!

Golden oldie

Since my hair is shorter now, I really like to wear it on pony tail! The end looks much fuller since it's short and the hair is still long enough to be worn tied to the back.

First styles as long bob brunette

This was one of the first photos, taken with a phone and bad lighting. But I like the soft waves.

Day after we visited a zoo so it just tied my hair to a quick pony tail.

The same day, I curled the hair again for the evening, we had a birthday party.

When we returned home and yesterday I just wanted to wear my hair straight and open.

Last styles as long blond

 As I did not post anything last week I have some pictures of last weeks hair style. These are the hair styles before I went to the hairdresser. 

 This was the day we left, I wore my hair straight and I made it fuller with some hair powder.

Next day I wanted to try a new braid pony, this was it.

Then it was turn for some more braids, this is a head band from a dutch braid with curls.

Finally I wanted to try something that I really could not do to short hair, The dutch braid goes around the bun and then around my head.

Later on I turned it to just a dutch braid in my bangs and otherwise open hair.

Fishtail

I've never tried this braid on me, I'm kind of exited that it worked out so well. My hair looks even a little bit thicker than it is!
