Pretty neat

Every time I wear a hair band I feel pretty neat, somehow I connect hair bands being very organized and happy.  Today it's great weather, I got some sleep last night and suddenly I feel very content with my life. So hair band time it is!

Decorating time!

Today was a sunny spring day! One feeling is sure to come with the spring, decoration fever! So, I've spent half of the day decorating my little girls room and I can still continue tomorrow. This easy bun was just the up do I needed for the day.

Another b-day party

It seems that many of my friends or their children have been born in March. So today we got to go yet another birthday party, my friends little boy turned one!

So I wore my hair open and curled. I noticed the nice front curve when I was taking this picture, nice small, unintended addition!

Tie it up

Here is again another bun. Last night was such a circus that I barely got few hours of sleep so in the morning I was totally out of hair ideas. And time. And energy.

But just after fifteen or so cups of coffee I managed to tie my hair up and take the older child to doctor. He has ear infection after all. Hopefully antibiotics work and younger child will stay healthy, that means I might get some sleep!

Oh what will the night bring...

I just took this picture of my self. Hair was open all day, as you see. 

While writing this my 2 year old is just ending his 2,5 hour tantrum here next to me, he refuses to sleep in his own bed even though he is so tired that he can barely stay awake. No wonder he's crying so loud. We are trying to make him sleep all night, at this point it is not going so well. 

And my 4 month old is waking up every hour  after 12 pm. Considering all this I actually look so tired after all.

The old trusted one

Whatever I said before, this is my go-to hair. Tie a pony tail into a loop and pin the loop into a bun whit two or more bobby pins, there you have it. Quick and easy and lasts the whole day.

Only problem is that I've been wearing this lately a lot, I need to come up with something new...

Party is over!

My updates lately have been very short, I've been quite busy organizing my sons 2 year old parties and  taking care of visiting relatives. When you add to that that I haven't slept more than 3 hours in a row last 6 months, you probably understand that sometimes I don't have the energy for my blog.

But now the party season is over from this month, guest have left to their own homes and I'm returning to every day routines, which also means thinking of my hair. I'll do my best to come up with some new ideas to my posts, just wait and see!

Going to places

Today I visited a shop I might not ever visit again - a knitting shop. This was thanks to my mum who has been knitting a lot her whole life. It was an interesting experience½

This of course meant that I got out of the house, even though I yesterday predicted that I might not ever get to do that again.  But because I did, I also did something small with my hair!

Let's keep it straight

Now-a-days I don't seem to go anywhere, ever. Wildest place I get to go is the grocery store. So no need to really do my hair for any occasion. 

So I kept my hair open today.

Home up do

Here it is again, home hair. This was the easiest thing to do today, even though we were actually visiting my sister in the morning. 

Visiting work

Today I kept my side parting on the left, which is the wrong side for me, and made a quick bun to the back. I thought this would be appropriate since  I visited my work place and while I was working I wore my hair like this all the time.

My side parting, that is.  Again a day hair open but the parting is in different place than usually!

Inspiration for open hair

I have a new idea how to vary my hair when it's open, I can always change my parting! So, I changed the parting to the other side of the head and made it go zig zag, suddenly my plain hair looks different again!

Basic pony tail, finally

Now I've done it, wore a basic pony tail.  I'm little bit out of inspiration and grandparents, who are visiting us, keep me busy. Maybe in the weekend I again have time to build a nice up do!

 

Back to basics

I'm back in normal, every day life with my house chores. I might as well go back to my dutch braid training, now I tried to do one were I don't use all the hair but just braid the hair on top of open hair. Confusing explanation, but I succeeded to make a braid only to my front hair!

Second party day

This is whats left of my up do after fun party day. I was wearing one sided bun. We had so much fun!

First party day

First day of two ear old parties is behind us and both kids are upstairs sleeping safe and sound. After a day of baking and organizing I'm ready to hit the bed too. 

I was wearing wavy hair and it lasted quite good until the end!

Baking hair

Today I start the baking for the birthday party. For my hair it means that it will be tied up because nothing is worse than hair in a cake! When my hair is tied like this, two braids in loops, I hope bakings are safe

Last peacefull day

We'll be celebrating whole weekend, my older kid is turning two. I'm baking everything for the party  myself so starting from today our house will turn to a bakery. We'll be having too two different parties, approx 30 persons are attending.

So I guess this will be my last peaceful moment for the week. 

Old office hair

This is the way I did my hair oh so often when I was still working. It works great with a suit, worked just as well with my leggings and tunic. I have a side parting and all hair is tied back in a bun.

Feathers -one more time

When I went to hairdresser last month I got two extension feathers. I've really liked how they peak out and give not too serious look to my hair. Unfortunately time has come to take them out soon, before they really overgrow, so I want to show them off when I still can.

 

So here they are.

Getting fit

Monday is my excersise day so here is my gym hair from today. In the morning I had my hair open.  When I'm working out I like my hair to be out of my face and up from my neck, this style works great when I'm working out!

 

 

Happy accident

Most of my buns are a result of the moment, I come up with some sort of start and style my hair forward and in the end I end up totally something different than I had originally in mind. Today's hair is perfect example of that. 

I started with two ponytails both sides of my hair and ended up with this.

I look little bit like old fashioned school teacher, I guess it's the combo of hair and the blouse.

Getting there

I've been practising my dutch braid, I think I'm getting there. Today I have dutch braid both sides of my hair joining together other side to one normal braid. 

Play date hair

Today I went with the kids to play date in the city, needed something easy for my hair so I quickly went for this in the  morning. The picture is taken last thing before I went to shower in the evening so this bun lasted very well whole day!

Day with mums

Today I don't need to be alone, I'll be having other mum's here for the evening, we'll have a pizza and enjoy each others company. I also just had one of my other friends here for coffee, she had made delicious  raw cake, yammy! Thanks to all  my friends I feel I'm living pretty perfect life!

I haven't had curls in long time so today I decided to use my straightening iron for this.

Secret revealed

I confess, I I've been cheating a little bit. You know, sometimes I need to think a it before I know how to style my hair in the morning. If I have no time, I just tie my hair back like this and style it again in the afternoon.

Well, today there was no time the whole day so you got to see my secret pony-twist!

Thinking of summer

I would like to be able to wear my hair open beautifully messy, so that I would look like I just accidentally happen to look awesome. My problem is that I always seem to do too much to my hair and then it ends up looking too  styled. Especially in the summer boho look would be perfect, I'm thinking of floty summer dresses, flip flops, slight tan and that hair...

Well, I keep trying to style my hair less, if I want to end up with the boho look. Here is first try. I also tried to get some hair accessories in, note my hair clip.

Running errands

Today I was taking my younger child to antenatal clinic and needed to look neat. So hair up and on my way!

While I was at the clinic, my older child was playing at neighbors house. I must say that I have the best neighbors in the world, having friends and support next door makes life some much easier!

First sign of spring

 

Usually first signs of spring in spring are coltsfoots (leskenlehti). Or some sort of bugs. This year mine is thi dragon fly!

Pony tail upgraded

It's already March. Time flies. I've been trying not to have the same hair style over and over again, that's also why I've been saving the basic pony tail for an emergency day. Today I almost gave in and wore it, but in the last moment I've decided to upgrade my ponytail to a bun. I just backcombed my pony tail and pinned it up, and voila, here it is!
