Again a day home, so I go easy on the hair. Just wearing on side pony tail today. With very thin rubber band this looks cool too, I think.

Children follow your every move

Today's hair is nothing special, I wore mine open.

The headline comes from what mine little boy did the other day day when he found my bobby pins and wanted to make me an up do. He's now nearly two years old and he's been watching me doing my hair. Here is the result.

Hat time again!

It's been exeptionally warm this February but today it was again below freezing point. Us mums were going to near by cafeteria so I needed to look neat. And I also needed a hat on.  So here's wha I ended up doing.

 

I have two rope braids both sides of my head and one in the middle. Rest of the hair is on a twisted bun.

Laid- back up do

I was little bit bored when children were sleeping so I tried to create a laid back up do.  Something, which is not too smooth and sleek but is still an up do. This might have turned out more formal than I intended but I kind of like it anyway!

Bonus was that on the front you nicely see the feather extension I have!

How to style an open hair?

I've noticed that I need new tips on how to style my hair when I wear it open. For today I came up with a hairstyle I haven't had this year but soon I'm running out of ideas. The limitation is that styling cannot take a lot of time.

 

Here I just pinned the front hair up and didn't do anything else for the rest.

The question in the head line is easy for Finns, even my Dutch husband guessed right when he saw me. This was easy up do for easy Sunday!

Everybody home again!

Our small family has reunited, my husband got back from business trip and my mum went home, it's just us again. We had really nice laid back evening, even the kids are getting better, slowly, but anyway.

I tied my hair powder on first time in long time, it really gives some volume to the hair. And you can really see the feathers...

Day 3 with mum and kids

It seems to be impossible to be healthy when my mum is here, I needed to take the smaller baby to hospital ER last night. But we are fine now, hopefully.

Here is today's hair, tried again the dutch braiding. Almost got it around my head!

Today I brought the kids to the doctor, at least one ear infection was discovered. I'm thinking I might have at least cold myself. So again, I had not so glamorous hair day. 

Today I used my pony tail loop devise for the first time. I think it will be useful when I make up do's.

Day 1 with mum and kids alone

My husband went on a business trip today and will return on Saturday. So I'm taking care of kids alone but luckily my mum came to help  me again. Unfortunately my kids don't like to sleep -day or night, so I might have little bit less time and energy for my hair.

Take a bow - bow tie!

Again a busy day, barely had a time to make a pony tail in the morning.

This of course means that I needed to do some experiments in the evening. I've been wanting to try on  my bow tie pony tail band, so today was the time for that experiment. I wanted to try it on to something else than pony tail, so I put it in  a bun. It could be worn this way too!

New extension experiments

Few weeks ago I bought new extension clip and now I wanted to see how the color works with the new hair. So I tied the hair into this simple pony tail. I'm quite satisfied with the color, all though this way I cannot wear the extension, I will use it to buns and up do's. This extension hair is synthetic so I cannot really style it like normal hair so let's see what the use of this extension will be.

Status update + updated hair!

I'm back! Back at home and back to update the blog. It went like I thought, I did not have neither time or opportunity to do any updates.

Last Friday I finally go to go to hairdresser and here is result, I've got feathers!

The picture is little bit bad, I did not have my  better camera with me. But anyway, I got more highlights and there at my fingers I have two hair feathers attached. I try to get a better picture at them now when I'm home.

Saturday was a day when I was hitting the city and shopping so I just tied my hair up. Sunday I again wanted to show of my feathers and pinned my hair up.

Leaving on a jet plane

In an hour our family heads to airport and flies off to Netherlands. Coming small holiday is just what we need after few weeks of being sick each one after the other. I'm not sure am I able to update my blog until I come back, I'll do my best. Otherwise you see all the holiday hairstyles when we return.

I take my chances and wear my hair open in the airplane. Having hair open is surprisingly challenging when you are cramped in a small airplane seat and are holding a baby who has just learned how to crab. Well, at least my baby girl can enjoy the ride when she can yank my hair!

Housewife on duty

Today I needed to back for tomorrows departure, we go to a mini holiday to Netherlands. I also needed to take my little boy to his gym class in the evening. So easy hairstyle was needed and here it is.

Preview on things to come...

I went shopping on Sunday and I found some new stuff to use in my hair. Round box contains some extensions, this time in lighter color, I'm planning to use them in up-do's later.

I mentioned it before, this week I get to go to hair dresser, I have an appointment on Friday at my friends salon in Purmerend, Holland. I'm exited as kid in a candy store! I'm sure we all agree that my roots need desperately some color!

Monday style

Monday, week starts all over again. I'm home, but I  have a weekly routine, I take my children to play dates, see my friends and other mums and do my sports. Still sometimes it seams that days just follow each other and at least the weeks are alike.

Well, I do often also have same hairstyles and I certainly have had this before, two braids crossing on top of my head. I guess it's safe to say it's one of my favorites.

Basic curls

Today we headed to Kidd-o brunch . In all of the hurry of leaving I went for easy curls. Child friendly brunch was a nice experience, all the toys and arts and crafts corner helped to keep children busy while parents could enjoy the food. A small fashion show and a goodie bag were also nice touches.

Wax experiment

I found a matte wax in the cabinet and wanted to try that out. I like the way it smooths hair and makes it sleek and neat. Unfortunately mine does not have very good hold so hairspray on top is needed.

Next week I'm going to a hairdresser, it's time to update at least my hair color. I haven't decided what to do with the cut yet, very probably I'm keeping it long, I have had short hair before and I always want to get back to having long one.

But I can always pretend I have short hair, like I did today.

Only 364 good hair days

It's official, no post from yesterday. I also got sick and had high fever, I really was in no shape to think about my hair.

Today I'm back in track, at least feeling much better than yesterday. Today was of course a day inside, that itself  asks for a bun. Here it is!

Day three inside

Again a day home with the kids, unfortunately no signs yet that my little boy would get better. Luckily today I have company, my mum is here for few days. Mum likes to treat people with her baking and now she is making cinnamon rolls, soon we get them fresh out of the owen, mmmm!

Even though I'm a mum myself, sometimes is nice to be mummy's little girl, this hair suites that feeling very well. I have two braids both sides of my hair tied in a into a loop.

Day two in captivity

My isolation due to child's illness continues, we need to stay inside and home at least today and tomorrow. So what is there to do? Clean, cook, play, the usual day routine. Maybe this 50's housewife scarf will make house chores more appealing?

All dressed up and no place to go

I spent my a Sunday at home, my little boy is sick so we couldn't go outside. When I need to spend the day inside with the children the biggest problem is how to keep them entertained, they are still too small to concentrate on movies or games. The day was little bit boring for us all.

So for my own entertainment I decided to use some more time to today's hair. I even did my make up to match. I wanted to rehearse the side curls, that's why the bun in the back is little bit boring. It was nice to make the curls maybe next time I have a party I consider this kind of style.

My friend had a party today and I created a really nice side bun for her, I think it worked out really well, what do you think? I've done these before and finally I seem to know exactly how to get it right.

My hair, on the other hand, looked like this. Well, it did at least in the morning, hair in the afternoon is totally different story, curls did not survive the one hour of snow work I did in the afternoon. I created the curls  by I had my hair up in a bun during the night, this time I had only one bun so the curls are not so tight.
