Christmas decorations and all

I've been a bit busy the whole weekend! Or at least that's how I feel like. I must admit that I got things done, we decorated the house for Christmas, I made a gingerbread house and few hairs and I also went to a church concert. A weekend well spent!

As I was keeping myself busy I didn't think of my own hair so much, I think I wore this hairstyle few times. I also had my hair open. 

My friend here was the real (hair) star of the weekend. She let me do a bun hawk on her and she liked it, even though it turned out quite fancy! I really like how shiny her hair looks!

Xmas party time!

Today was an awesome hair day for me! I got the do the hair of these lovely ladies in the picture.

They are the colleagues of my husband and when we met earlier in the Autumn, I mentioned that I could do their hair if they had some special occasion. And now I got the change since it was their offices Christmas party! I'm so happy that they trusted me with their hair, doing the up do's felt like dream come true!

Then to the individual pictures. She wanted to have her hair in soft curls and half up, preferably over one shoulder. She had beautiful, shiny and sleek hair and we decided to add some volume to it with three clip on hairpieces. The highlights she has stand out beautifully in the braids in the back!

This girl was first asking for a curls which would be gathered to a bun on top of her head. To me she seemed more like a rock n roll kind of girl rather than the romantic type so after all we went for this more sleek bun style which compliments the beautiful color of her hair. Also the bow in the neck of her dress shows nicely in this one. 

And last, but not least, the Evita look-a-like up do. She has the most beautiful hair in the world, blond, thick, shiny and all the way to the waist! I would love to braid this hair sometime! She wanted to have her hair all up, in a neat but not too sleek bun. I first went for basic pull through braid up do, but since she had so much hair it became this pull through up do with vintage vibe on it. It suited her very well!

High and low buns

Maybe you thought that high bun out of short hair is something impossible? Well, it's not! Of course my hair is not that short but it's not even shoulder length and the bun in here is quite high. Today I felt that I wanted to feel like I have long hair so that's why I choose this look. I really liked it.

I also had a chance to do a bun for one of my friends. It did not come out quite as I expected but we both liked it still.

How to make your hair look longer?

This is a pull through braid up do and I wore this today to my friends girls birthday party. I really like it, makes my hair look longer and thicker and it hold up very well!

Snowflakes

One account in Instagram, @hair_by_jakky, is hosting a Christmas hairstyle competition. I thought about Christmas hairstyles and I started to think about snowflakes. I already had this snowflake necklace so this is what I come up with. I think the hairstyle would work in other parties as well, with or without the necklase.

Day of first times

In my earlier post I was styling my friends Piritas hair. Today I also did mine and used a hair style I've had never tried before. I started to try on loop braids and in the end they looked so nice that I did an up do out of them.

Super Sunday with beautiful model

Me and my friend Pirita have been talking about getting together and doing some hair styles to her new, shorter hair. Today we finally did that! It's always so nice to see her, she's truly a dear friend and we have so much to talk. When I could combine this with doing hair in some what peace, I was in heaven. 

First of all I just wanted to get a feel for her hair. I started to braid and this came out! It's a Swedish loop braid on top of a dutch braid, I saw something similar @ice_braids ig page few days ago. I had never tired this before but I think this style works very well with short hair too!

Next step was to go sleek. When Pirita cut her hair she was pondering between pixie cut or long bob - and choose the long bob. I wanted to mimic how the pixie cut would have looked like!

My first thought was to do her some sort of curls the moment she walked to my house. We did not want to do any heat styling anymore, so these curls fitted perfectly as a next style. I just love how these curls bring out her light pink highlights!

As a final hair for today I wanted to make an up do which would hold well since Pirita was headed to gym. Without thinking I did this snake braid, S like snake, sport, sweet super Sunday!

Growing pains

I've been lately thinking that year 2014 ends soon. That's when this blog will end as well. The coming year end makes me think what's coming next in the hair front, what direction should I take. Should I put up a business so there would be a change to do hair professionally for parties and such,  Or should I just stay in the internet, make a Facebook page or Youtube channel or what. Or should I just leave this be a nice hobby. There are lots of questions in my mind!

While thinking that I've noticed that I'm not anymore so obsessed my own hair but I want to make hair do's for other people. You've might have also noticed that, there has been less pictures of my hair lately here. Maybe I've finally had enough of styling my own hair and now it's others turn!

Today it was my friends turn, she was going to a baby shower party. She wanted a bun but not too neat one so this is what came out!

Someone else's turn

Today me and the other mums celebrated two three year olds with coffee and cake and while enjoying the refreshments, I had chance to do some hair. For my good friend I wanted to try the hair bow up do, I know she likes bows so this was definitely suitable for her.

Another style I've wanted to try already some time is carousel braid. It was really fun to do!

My own hair is open and I still haven't decided will I do something with it. If I will, you'll see the result tomorrow!

Busy Sunday

Our day was full of program today, first we had family day that my husbands work had organized, we went to a near by indoor science park for kids, Heureka. We had loads of fun! In the afternoon we had a date with our friend couple, we went to check their new house, it was amazing!

So I chose today to try out my new Remington curling wand. I only burned my self in the neck and thumb. I must say that I need much more practice with that. I after all managed to make some curls and they also looked quite nice, at least until I stepped outside to the rain...Well, my curls had a boho look in the evening.

I squeezed in two other hair do's, other one is this 15 minute bow bun. For the time I had I like the look of it. The other one was just for practice...

More halloween hair

Made this pumpkin today, it could be better. Otherwise had a hair free day! :)

Preparing for Halloween!

I saw in Instagram this contest hosted by sabbysstyles92 about Halloween hair and got immediately an idea about spider hair. Since it's so cold in the mornings us mums tend to want to stay inside and wait before it gets more warm and that time is my time to do some hair! I could say that mums in our yard have the best styled hair in this side of the town! I managed to do the spider even though it was challenge since there is a double amount of kids comparing to us mums and all kids are under three.  In the end the spider was changed to a braided bun since we were going outside. 

I was thinking that that spider was enough for hair doing for today until I saw a pictorial about how to make a pretzel braid. Had to try it and so I had a small pretzel in my hair to make my own pony tail more fun

In the end I also started to learn about how to braid with four sections, I now know two different ways. I immediately tried it on to one other mum! I made a ribbon braid with four sections. I like this style of braiding with ribbon very much, the ribbon looks so nice in the middle.
